Date: Saturday, April 11, 2009 Time: 4:30 pm - 12:00 mid Location: USU Ballrooms ABC 1250 Bellflower Blvd Long Beach, CA It is our 3nd Year Anniversary as a Salsa Club on campus. We want to celebrate bigger than ever thiis year by bringing you together with one of the best Salsa dance instructors, band, and performers. A little different this year, we will be hosting 5 different workshops for all in attendance. Also, we will treat you to an ESPN Three Time World Salsa Champion instructor who will teach you how to move with Latin Spice! We will have Johnny Polanco Y Su Conjunto Amistad, playing live for you. Also, DJ Asdruval "Astro" Alarcon will be spinning the best Salsa music for you until midnight. Our very own CSULB Salsa Dance Team will be starting off the night with an amazing performance you wouldn't want to miss. Followed by great performances by LA Fusion Dance Company, CSUN "Salsa Libre", USC's "Break on 2" Salsa Dance Teams to mention a few. The rest of the night will be an open dance floor so you may showcase your new Spicy Salsa moves. LEARN TO SALSA DANCE!
The Ultimate Salsa Experience . . . Learn All the Essential Fundamentals to Create a Strong Foundation for Every Level of Salsa Dance If you want to learn one of the hottest Latin dances, or improve on your technique and style, these are the classes for you!! You will learn quick and easy salsa patterns, footwork and styling to get you ready to hit the dance floor! You will have fun -- guaranteed! Classes are taught by Laura Luu (Director/Choreographer for the CSULB Salsa Dance Team), Alex Montilla and Gonzalo Ruelas. No experience or partner needed! Classes begin next week!  
With Laura Luu & Alex Montilla When: Tuesdays - April 29th, May 6th & May 13th, 7:45pm - 9:45pm (For All Levels of Salsa Dance) In this class, you will learn salsa patterns and footwork, elements of partner dancing, lead and follow, balance, control and connection with your partner, spins & turns all while building confidence on the social dance floor! 
With Laura Luu & Gonzalo Ruelas When: Saturdays - April 26th, May 3rd and May 10th, 10am - 12noon (All Levels to Intermediate) In this class, you will learn intermediate patterns and footwork, lead transitions, spot turns, dips and endings, understand syncopation, direction change and multiple turns, styling and body movement while dancing, learn how to control your balance before and after multiple turns and add sophistication to your social dancing and partnering! Where: Cal State Long Beach Campus Description: Kaleidoscope is CSULB's annual festival showcasing many student clubs and organizations at CSULB as well as community-based organizations. There will be awesome food vendors, entertainment, and exhibits and displays. The CSULB Salsa Club will be promoting and the CSULB Salsa Dance Team will be performing this year, so don't miss out!!! 
Salsa Workshop Mini Series (3/8, 3/9, 3/15)
Laura Luu & Gonzalo Ruelas are very excited to be putting together and bringing to you a series of dance workshops to help you improve your dancing even more! These workshops are open to club members, team members and the public. Members of both teams are HIGHLY encouraged to attend. So spread the word, invite your friends!! We'll have sign up sheets at both the club meeting (wed) and at team rehearsal on Saturday. Would love to see you all there!!

When: Saturday, April 28th, 11am-5pmLocation: CSULB Campus - Friendship Walk What is Kaleidoscope?: Kaleidoscope is the university’s annual festival and open house event. It was established in 1985 to open the campus to its neighbors, highlight the academic pursuits of the university and celebrate the diverse array of individuals and activities that help make CSULB the unique campus community that it is. More than 30,000 people attend Kaleidoscope each year. The festival traditionally features more than 200 exhibits and displays, including games, rides, hands-on demonstrations and food and retail booths sponsored by students, staff, faculty and community groups.
